2024 was a year marked by innovation, expansion, and major milestones. From launching groundbreaking partnerships to advancing our technology and progressing key projects, we have set new benchmarks in the surf pool industry. This annual overview highlights our most significant achievements and provides insight into the exciting plans we have for the year ahead.
Desert Lakes partnership
2024 started for us with a big announcement: UNIT Surf Pool North America LLC has teamed up with the team behind our Southern Shores project – Desert Lakes LLC. This collaboration aims to develop wave pool projects integrating artificial surf technology within leisure-focused real estate developments. The partnership not only underscores UNIT Surf Pool’s commitment to geographic expansion. In addition, it fosters sustainable growth in high-potential markets. Therefore, it makes it easier for customers across the USA, Canada, and Mexico to buy our technology.
Three Bridges: New project and largest UNIT Surf Pool to date
We have initiated the Three Bridges project in Salem, Utah, located between St. George and Salt Lake City. This is our third project in the U.S. and will include the largest UNIT Surf Pool. The development is a residential golf and surf community. Soon it will feature an 18-meter (59 ft) floating wave pool, combining recreation with resort-style living.
Brand new unitdynamicwave technology
Our highlight in innovation was the introduction of the brand new unitdynamicwave technology, that generates multiple moving wave pockets. The technology builds on the proven foundation of our standing wave system, refined with precise water flow sequencing to create a movable wave within the existing framework. Each pocket of the 50 meter-wide (164 ft) wave pool offers surfers a 20-second ride from one side to the other. The wave height and speed are adjustable for a customized experience.
Progress at Havelwelle: Build-up of the first indoor UNIT Surf Pool
This year saw significant progress on Havelwelle, our first indoor UNIT Surf Pool, located in Potsdam, Germany. The 14-meter-wide surf pool is designed to make the sport accessible to a wider audience. The vision behind Havelwelle is to create a multifaceted destination. The place will integrate food and beverage offerings and tiny houses to foster a unique community atmosphere. With the UNIT Surf Pool installation completed, the final step is adding a roof to the building, leading to the opening in 2025.
Revel Surf: Soft opening of Arizona’s first Surf Park
We closed the year with the exciting launch of Revel Surf Park, Arizona’s first-ever surf park. As the world’s first facility to feature both a standing wave and moving wave technology, it’s a milestone for surf innovation. Our 10-meter-wide UNIT Surf Pool, set in an outdoor concrete basin, is ready and waiting for you to ride!
Outlook for 2025
UNIT Surf Pool’s focus for 2025 includes several exciting milestones: The opening of Havelwelle, our first indoor unitstandingwave, will be a significant step for our brand. Additionally, we aim to scale the deployment of the unitdynamicwave. Besides, we will continue advancing the Three Bridges project in Salem, which will feature the largest unitstandingwave to date. Stay tuned, as we’ll see even more UNIT Surf Pool projects coming to life in 2025.
